El tiempo nos depara lo inesperado. Yo  siempre creo que estoy en mi derecho de esquivarlo cuando intento esconderme, dar rodeos o decir con eufemismos lo que de otra forma duele. Pero el tiempo es implacable y acaba por destapar el velo de la realidad. Y la realidad es que he terminado la carrera en el plazo estipulado en el plan de estudios, he decidido seguir con mis estudios inmediatamente después, como indica el canon de hoy en día, y, de repente,  me he encontrado con la imposibilidad de seguirlo. Algo se ha roto. Y me he bloqueado.

Toda la vida intentamos, de alguna forma, visualizar un rastro, unas normas, un canon, algo en lo que apoyar y basar nuestras decisiones, ya sea para seguirlo o para ir a contracorriente. Pero esa decisión a veces no depende únicamente de nosotros mismos. La situación, el lugar, el momento, “los agentes externos” que lo llaman  juegan a la ruleta de la fortuna sin que tengamos opción muchas veces a intervenir. Y entonces es de nuevo el tiempo, siempre el tiempo, el que nos otorga algo que quizá se nos había olvidado con tanto canon y tanta norma: la capacidad de decidir por nosotros mismos sin presiones QUÉ o QUIÉNES queremos ser.

Lo he estado esquivando durante los años de carrera, de hecho conseguí esquivarlo hasta que hace bien poco, en una conferencia, me enteré de que el máster que quiero hacer, y la principal razón para haber vuelto a Alemania, no empieza de nuevo hasta septiembre de 2010. Y en esos momentos la ya conocida pregunta “¿qué hago ahora con mi vida?” resonó en mi cerebro con un eco ensordecedor y no hubo canon capaz de contestarla. Fue entonces cuando la presión acumulada hasta ese momento empezó a perder intensidad, y el tiempo me devolvió la capacidad de ver. De ver un abanico de amplias posibilidades por las que decantarme. De ver que el mundo no es plano y que hay vida más allá de acabar la carrera y empezar un master inmediatamente después.

Y lo inesperado es que ahora las posibilidades empiezan a ordenarse solas, así, con el tiempo.

Nadie dijo que cumplir un sueño fuera fácil…

…ni que lo que deseas sea ciertamente lo que necesitas…

…o que lo que necesitas sea lo que quieres…

Un sueño.

Sometimes, the simple fact of having a friend to pouring your feelings out calms you down. Some other times, it is easier to write, just write, and let it flow with the rhythm of your fingers touching each letter, each single sound coming out – as if with your feelings you were giving birth to some kind of magical melody that goes with your mood, that suits you well and makes you like yourself, makes you feel safe, feel at home.

So here I am, after a year without having written a miserable piece of paper and posted it here… and now I’m in the need of doing it. Such is life.

Sometimes it is not enough with a notebook.

Mmmm… sólo por que me lo has pedido tú Anita… jejeje

La vida aquí sigue dándome alegrías, nuevos amigos, nuevas aventuras, mucha experiencia, y sobre todo, miles de historias que contar… jajaja. Este fin de semana pasado estuve en Berlin, y me encantó. A pesar de que el tiempo no acompañó nada (por lo menos no llovió, eso sí) la ciudad es espléndida, grande, sensible, todavía viviendo en el recuerdo de lo que pasó durante la 2ª Guerra Mundial – casi todos los monumetos, e incluso algunos museos, son homenajes o supervivintes de ésta. Los berlineses son conscientes de cómo están presentes todas estas señales en su vida, y se han acostumbrado a vivirla así.

La línea de metro es increíblemente complicada, vamos que existen lo menos más de 8 líneas de metro, más tranvías, más buses, más trenes… sí, es enorme la ciudad en general   Este fin de semana ha sido muy grande, he acabado muerta del cansancio, pero feliz. Hay fotos del viaje en Facebook para los que lo tengáis (Anita deberías hacerte uno, ¡¡estamos casi todos ahí metidos!! jeje).

Ahora me toca ponerme las pilas con la uni, que las presentaciones que tengo que hacer están a la vuelta de la esquina, a principios de noviembre – ya noviembre… dios mío, qué rápido pasa el tiempo. Y después… ¡¡¡Estocolmo se ha dicho!!! Arrate tendrá visita durante un fin de semana, ya tengo ganas la verdad.

Por favor mantenedme informada de qué tal os va la vida por cada parte del mundo en la que os encontréis jeje. Os echo de menos fricólocos

Un besazo enorme desde Mannheim – viele Küssen!

I can’t believe time went on this quickly… it’s been a month since I got here, and, well, although it really feels like home, it is surprising how I have got used to all these so quickly! My “training” month  for learning German is over, and now university is about to start I realise how much time it will have to go by until I get home again. It’s strange how feelings about what should feel like home get all confused inside me.

But, still, after this crazy month, I can say I’ve never felt so active, full of energy, independent, dreamy, realistic and real in my whole life before.

Today will be one of the first days I come home early after having eaten at the university, in the MENSA - and by early I mean at 2:oo p.m… This afternnon is kind of “free time-afternnon” as we don’t have any excursion going on or any other event, so I promised myself I would come back after having lunch to organise and clean my room, do the washing, write e-mails, buying stuff, RELAX…yes, I need some time off, I am so tired…we haven’t stopped doing things (buying stuff, signing papers, clubbing, partying… ;p ) since we arrived.  So today is the day. I’ll take it easy… ;p

This is my first post after sort of a week ( 5 days) in Mannheim. I am so happy here I forgot to write back to you people! ;p

This place is great, is all so clean and there are so many things to see and to do that I am getting stuck ‘cos I think I won’t have time to see them all…in a year!! hehe. Now I will say that these first days have been like me going from one place to another like crazy to get some papers for the University, stuff for my room, for eating and living! and some other things like opening a bank account and getting my transport card and so. I love the place because is not that big, but at the same time it’s not small, so pretty much like Bilbao, but the thing is that Mannheim is a mixture of old buildings and old arquitecture mixed up with moder-like buildings and museums, it’s just…perfect!

 The day of my arrival, last Wednesday, was, for sure, the worst of all. Not because my arrival, but ‘cos of all the hours I had to wait in Barcelona for my flight to Frankfurt, and, the worst of all, ‘cos I had to carry my huge three suitcases with me…but there were German people for helping me! (they are so kind here ) I needed two big guys for helping me carrying the suitcases to the bus which was taking me to the Hauptbahnhof, where I had to take the train to Mannheim…I was so tired and… just sooooooooooo tired. But I was lucky again because when I arrived in Mannheim my ‘buddy’ was waiting for me at the station, and he had a car!!! so we just put the fucking heavy suitcases inside and went to the Schloss (the baroque castle used now as part of the uni) to get my residence keys. When I saw the room I was like ‘Oh, my God!! I can’t believe is this big, and this cute!’ ;p That was the moment I knew that would be my home for next year, and I felt tremendously happy.

It’s only three days left for my departure to Germany…hummm…AAGHAAAA!!!!!!!

Yes, I could say I’m very nervous, but I could say too (indeed, I write it ^^) that I’m mad about going there, I just can’t wait to see all, to meet everyone, to live there!!

No hago más que ver aviones pasar. De un lado para otro del cielo. Sobevuelan mi campo de visión, uno tras otro, con sus rastros vaporosos, estelas preciadas, como incitándome. Y yo los contemplo, con un cierto sentimiento de anhelo.

Hasta hace bien poco ése era el panorama: quería irme – quiero irme. Pero cuanto más cercana está la fecha marcada en el calendario para el gran acontecimiento más extraños y menos anhelantes me parecen los aviones que veo volar cerca de mí. Me tiemblan las piernas cuando me imagino sentada cerca de la ventanilla de uno, contemplando el gran cielo plagado de nubes, y mi ciudad y mi entorno haciéndose cada vez más pequeños, alejándose cada vez más, y más, y más, hasta desaparecer. Y entonces sólo nubes.

The big suitcase would serve. But…hummm, still will be too small for all…Clothes, shoes, books, photo albums, grammar books, notebooks, dictionaries, the laptop, strength, illusion, hopes, responsability, stories and the world here the way I know it – my world.

- Mum, I think it won’t be enough with the big suitcase…
